Lord Leycester Hospital Warwick Wedding Photographer - Anna & Jon
Updated: 7 days ago
IF YOU’RE PLANNING A WEDDING AT LORD LEYCESTER HOSPITAL IN WARWICK, YOU’LL FIND TONS OF INSPO FROM THIS LOVELY SUMMER WEDDING!
Anna & Jon
Such a lovely, relaxed couple! Anna told me that Jon proposed in the kitchen next to a pile of laundry, very romantic Jon, lol!
These guys booked me because I had photographed Anna's best friends' wedding a couple of years ago at exactly the same venue! Anna was the bridesmaid then! Originally they had planned a larger wedding in June of this year but because of the new restrictions, Covid 19, they decided to hold a smaller, intimate wedding in September.
They got ready at home, having photography coverage from the ceremony until after the speeches at the reception venue.
Anna wore a beautiful lacy dress and Jon wore a navy suit with a pink tie, they looked really perfect for their special day.
They said they wanted a photographer who would be like a guest, and I loved that they were so laid back and that they wanted an intimate, outdoor wedding. Anna said there wasn't really a theme for their wedding they just wanted it to be simple, green, white and pink with a rustic feel! This was going to be a DYI/garden party wedding... just my cup of tea!
Why is the Lord Leycester a great place to get married
Anna and Jon tied the knot at Lord Leycester Hospital, which is in Warwick town centre. It is one of the best preserved examples of medieval courtyard architecture in England, it is a grade 1 listed building! There are so many photo ops, it's a dream for Photographers! The Lord Leycester Hospital is really peaceful and secluded, and is one of the loveliest places to get married in Warwick. The venue offers an amazing atmosphere for a wedding and the staff are really accommodating.
I arrived quite a bit before the guests so I managed to have a good look around this quirky venue, I loved photographing all the details in the garden as I thought it would add to the story and atmosphere of the day. The ceremony was intimate due to the current Covid 19 restrictions in a walled garden/courtyard at The Lord Leycester. It was a lovely, bright sunny day! A personal service with very close family and friends. The ceremony area was decorated with a simple rustic feel which went really well with the setting and I loved it. After the ceremony Anna, Jon & myself ventured around the various areas of the garden and the historical building to take the couples portraits, I was really spoilt for choice for backgrounds!
The Elephant & Castle boutique hotel in Rowington, Warwickshire!
Loving this venue because it was so quirky and fun. Set in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. It's a traditional country house from the outside but really fun and funky on the inside.
The guys set up a scout tent/marquee as the wedding was generally a DYI wedding with family & friends making the cakes & helping with the decorations.
The couple had drinks and canapés in the afternoon, and an intimate family dinner/ buffet early evening.
Advice for Planning your Wedding
