Wootton Park

Wootton Park Wedding Photographer – Boho Wedding Theme – Beth & James

IF YOU’RE PLANNING A FUN WEDDING AT WOOTON PARK IN HENLEY IN ARDEN, YOU’LL LOVE THIS WEDDING FOR INSPIRATION!

The Couple

When I met Beth & James I clicked with them straight away, Beth seemed relaxed & quirky in her funky red shoes & James was chilled out with a dry sense of humour. They said they didn’t care about anything except having an epic party with their friends & family! I loved that they just wanted to party, eat cake, drink & be marry with their guests . They were looking for a friendly, unobtrusive Photographer who would photograph their wedding without over doing it on the group shots & couples portraits. Beth and James wanted to me to photograph their day as it unfolded with mainly natural, candid photographs.

Beth & James told me that they met on a drunken night out in a pub called the Bulls Head in Birmingham. They have pretty much been together ever since. They now have an adorable one year old daughter, Oonagh, she was their little flower girl on their day.

Getting Ready

When the day arrived, on a slightly overcast, drizzly March day, I was excited to photograph this pairs wedding. I knew it was going to be really good fun & in no way stuffy or formal. The day was to start at Wootton Park in Henley In Arden, Warwickshire, where the girls were getting ready. All the girls were there together sharing a joke & a glass or two of prosecco. Along with the usual nerves but mostly chilled vibes was felt by all. It was a great chance to photograph some ‘fly on the wall’, natural photographs of Beth while she was getting ready. She has the most amazing smile so she was a very easy subject to photograph & she rocked the hair in rollers look!

I just loved the boho feel to Beth’s lacy dress, flower crown & flowers, so colourful & bright! The bridesmaids wore a floor-length gown and they looked really gorgeous.

The Ceremony- Getting hitched

The ceremony was a church service in a beautiful local Catholic church,Our Lady & St Benedicts, down the road from Wootton Park. The ceremony was a traditional/personal service, Beth & James were beaming throughout, giggling & really enjoying the occasion! Little Oonagh was helped to walk down the aisle. She looked so adorable wobbling in front of Beth & the bridesmaids as they made their entrance. James was laughing as were the guests as it was so vey cute to see this little girl walking virtually for the first time, a lovely surprise! After the ceremony it was a chance to grab some fun shots with the confetti before it started to drizzle. The couple took little breather, to relax with their guests, having fizz & canapés. Then we dived into taking a handful of group photographs, some relaxed images of Beth & James around the grounds & some natural shots of Beth with her best buddies!

The Reception & Party

The couple had a sit down roast dinner on the afternoon followed by some hilarious speeches which had everyone in stitches. Then it was time to relax with their guests for a while before the evening party began. I set up a photo booth with crazy masks & props so after a few drinks lots of the guests came over to have their pix taken. The party was great fun with a DJ playing all of Beth & James’ favourite songs, everyone really let their hair down & I think this was the moment the newlyweds had been waiting for all day. They finished off the evening with a huge buffet & loads more fun, dancing & drinking until the early hours.

The Photo Ops

The weather was bright but slightly overcast that day & prone to rain. It was a wonderful setting with a friendly, easy going couple & we managed to get some stunning images. I particularly liked the photographs of Beth getting ready in the morning as it was so informal & relaxed. I am also really pleased with the photographs of Beth with her bridesmaids, Bride Tribe, these are happy, fun images. it is fantastic to look back on these photographs & see just how happy Beth & James look, they are beaming on all of the images, think I had a much fun as they did!

Why Wooton Park is a great place to get married

The reception was in a barn at Wooton Park – I love this venue because you can totally personalise it. Weddings at Wooton Park are amazing, because the photo ops are just incredible. Wooton Park is really peaceful and secluded, and is one of the loveliest places to get married in Henley in Arden. The venue offers onsite bedrooms so guests don’t have to leave early – and there so many incredible backdrops that are perfect for photos.
